Niterói receberá pela primeira vez o Jungle Fight, um dos principais eventos de MMA do Brasil. A edição 155 está marcada para 3 de outubro de 2026, na Arena Niterói, com três disputas de cinturão e transmissão ao vivo pelo SporTV e pelo Combate, a partir das 20h, no horário de Brasília.

A luta principal colocará o campeão dos pesos-médios, Oton Jasse, diante do boliviano Josias “Búfalo” Núñez, na categoria até 84 kg. A Prefeitura de Niterói informou que Jasse soma 23 vitórias em 33 lutas e que 20 de seus triunfos foram por finalização. 

No peso-galo feminino, até 61 kg, a campeã Layze Cerqueira, da Bahia, defenderá o título contra a goiana Mayra Cantuária Rodrigues. Segundo a divulgação oficial, Layze possui 14 vitórias em 19 combates e chega ao evento com uma sequência de oito vitórias, enquanto Mayra tem 11 triunfos em 19 apresentações. 

O terceiro cinturão será decidido no peso-meio-pesado, até 93 kg. Com o título vago, o fluminense Luís Henrique “Lion Heart” enfrentará o paraense Rodolfo dos Santos.

A prefeitura destacou a ligação de Wallid Ismail com a cidade: o dirigente iniciou sua trajetória como atleta no Canto do Rio, cuja sede fica em frente à Arena Niterói. 

A Arena Niterói fica próxima às barcas e ao terminal rodoviário. A administração municipal classificou o local como um espaço de fácil acesso para receber o público do evento

Entrada solidária esgotada

Os ingressos foram disponibilizados gratuitamente mediante a doação de 1 kg de alimento não perecível. A logística de arrecadação e distribuição foi organizada em parceria com a Legião da Boa Vontade (LBV).

The MQ-9 Reaper is an uncrewed aircraft used for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and, when armed and authorized, precision-strike missions. The aircraft involved in the planned transfer are currently operating under U.S. Africa Command and would be reassigned to U.S. Southern Command, according to six people familiar with the plans who spoke to CNN. 

The U.S. government has not publicly released a formal announcement identifying how many drones will move, their future bases, the timing of the transfer or the operational rules that would govern their use.

Sources told CNN that the redeployment is linked to anticipated counter-narcotics and counterterrorism operations in South America. Potential operations in Ecuador were among the scenarios cited in the reporting, amid expanded security cooperation between Washington and Quito. 

No specific operation, target, timetable or authorization for strikes in Ecuador or elsewhere in South America has been publicly confirmed. The planned shift should therefore not be described as confirmation of an imminent U.S. attack or a new combat operation.

Texas Air National Guard F-16 Crashes During Training in Northern Michigan; Pilot Stable

A Texas Air National Guard F-16 Fighting Falcon crashed in Grand Traverse County, Michigan, on Thursday afternoon during a training exercise. The pilot ejected before impact and is in stable condition at a local hospital, while authorities evacuated residents near the crash site because of a hazardous-material concern. 

No civilian injuries have been reported, and officials said nearby homes were not damaged. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. 

Crash location

Emergency dispatchers reported the downed aircraft shortly after 2 p.m. near County Road 633 and Blair Townhall Road in Blair Township, south of Traverse City. The aircraft came down near residential properties, prompting a large response from local, state and military authorities. 

The F-16 belonged to the Texas Air National Guard’s 149th Fighter Wing and was participating in training associated with the Alpena Combat Readiness Training Center, according to reporting citing military officials.

Pilot ejetts safely

The pilot was the aircraft’s sole occupant and ejected safely before the jet crashed, authorities said. The Texas Air National Guard reported that the pilot was receiving medical care and was in stable condition. 

Officials have not released the pilot’s name or detailed medical information. No other injuries had been reported as of the latest available updates. 

Evacuation order

Grand Traverse County emergency officials initially instructed people in part of the area to shelter in place. Authorities later ordered an evacuation for residents within approximately one mile of the crash location, near County Road 633 and Jefferson Place. 

Michigan State Police said the evacuation was related to a hazardous spill connected to the crash. Residents within the designated shelter-in-place zone were advised to remain indoors, close windows and vents, and follow emergency instructions. Officials had not publicly identified the substance involved.

El Ejército Brasileño informó que realizó con éxito una prueba de lanzamiento del Míssil Tático de Cruzeiro (MTC), un sistema en desarrollo dentro del Programa Estratégico del Ejército ASTROS-FOGOS. La evaluación se llevó a cabo en el Centro de Avaliações do Exército (CAEx), en Río de Janeiro, y tuvo como objetivo verificar mejoras aplicadas al mecanismo de salida del proyectil. 

Según la institución, la evaluación final de los cambios implementados fue positiva. El MTC es presentado por el Ejército como el primer misil de crucero de esta categoría desarrollado con tecnología nacional brasileña.

U.S. Publicly Confirms It Has Space-Control Weapons in Orbit for the First Time

The United States has publicly acknowledged that it has deployed “space-control weapons” in orbit, marking the first known confirmation by a senior U.S. official that the country operates weapons in space. Air Force Secretary Troy Meink said the systems are intended to defend U.S. forces against hostile actions, but he did not identify the weapons, disclose their number, or explain when they were placed in orbit. 

Meink made the announcement during the Air & Space Forces Association’s Air, Space & Cyber Conference in National Harbor, Maryland. The disclosure comes after years of U.S. warnings about Chinese and Russian activities in orbit, including potential threats such as satellite interference, jamming and other counterspace capabilities. 

What the U.S. confirmed

Meink said the United States now has on-orbit weapons capable of “space control” and of defending the joint force against hostile adversary action. Man Arrested After Stabbing at Valley Mall in Corner Brook

A man was taken into custody after a stabbing at a business inside the Valley Mall in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, on Monday, September 14. Police said the victim was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary (RNC) increased its presence in several parts of the city while responding to the incident. Police later said there was no ongoing threat to public safety.

Police response

At about 6 p.m., the RNC issued a public advisory reporting an increased police presence around Valley Road, Wellington Street and Mount Bernard Avenue.

Residents and visitors in the area were asked to follow officers’ instructions and report suspicious activity. The advisory came as officers responded to the stabbing investigation at the mall.

At approximately 8:15 p.m., the RNC confirmed that one man had been arrested in connection with the incident.

Victim hospitalized

RNC media relations officer Const. Stephanie Myers said the male victim was transported to hospital. His injuries were believed to be serious, but not life-threatening.

Police did not release the victim’s identity, age or further details about his condition.

The number of people directly involved, the relationship between the victim and the suspect, and the circumstances leading to the stabbing had not been publicly confirmed in the information available.

CIBC Halifax Contact-Centre Employees Shocked by Layoff Notices — Finance

Employees at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC) contact centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia, were reportedly notified of layoffs last week. One employee said the dismissals may represent only the first phase of a broader workforce reduction.
The employee, who spoke anonymously, said affected workers were informed individually during meetings held last week.
“We were completely caught off guard when the news began reaching people last week, and this is only the first group of layoffs,” the employee said.
The worker added that the announcements came as a shock and had a significant impact on staff morale.

“I will be fine, but I worry about my wonderful colleagues, especially single parents and those living paycheque to paycheque. For many of them, this job was their livelihood,” the employee said.

The worker also said that although some employees have not been affected so far, morale across the team is extremely low.

“They are worried they will be the next ones to be laid off,” the employee said.
